In my role as Manager, Internal and Leadership Communications at University of Waterloo, I get the privilege of working with many units across campus on change management projects and area improvements. This often involves not only communicating about changes but devising a strategic plan for how to do it.

In 2023, I supported Parking Services in launching their new brand identity as Sustainable Transportation. Waterloo’s commitment to sustainable futures is made clear in its strategic vision and plan, Waterloo at 100. Their new name reflected a shift from talking about parking spaces to promoting more planet-friendly ways to get to and from campus.

The website restructuring aimed to:

  • Rewrite and edit content to represent current practices and offerings

  • Promote ease of navigation by streamlining duplicate content and designing with the user in mind

  • Position content to better reflect Sustainable Transportation’s rebrand and future initiatives
